Flying Balls at Goose Island’s Sunday Funday Event

sdfCHICAGO (May 1, 2014) –Get Ready For Some Flying Balls at Goose Island’s Sunday Funday Event Goose Island to host a Sunday Funday party including a “Battle of the Breweries” dodgeball tournament On Sunday May 18, 2014, Goose Island Beer Company will host the first event in its new Goose Island Barrel Warehouse. The tournament is one of the signature events as part of the Chicago Craft Beer Week hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. The Sunday Funday event will include a “Battle of the Breweries” dodgeball tournament, food trucks, live music, mini golf and other activities.

This event will allow fans to have the opportunity to get a first look at the new barrel warehouse, which will be home to some of Goose Island’s most popular barrel aged beers such as Bourbon County Stout, Madame Rose, Halia, Juliet, Sofie, among others.

“We wanted this tournament to be an opportunity to bring together other local breweries,” said Brett Porter, Brewmaster at Goose Island Beer Co. “It is also the best way for us to celebrate what is to come with our new barrel warehouse.”

A total of sixteen teams comprised of members from local Chicago breweries will play against teams from other breweries. Servings of specialty Goose Island beers such as The Ogden, Madame Rose and Bourbon County Stout variants will be available.
